About IMS

Forty Years In
Same Focus

Family-owned. Two generations in. No breache, no rebrands, no ownership churn. While the category cycled through malware events, Chapter 11 filings, and PE layoff cycles, IMS kept shipping. Every cycle, since 1986.

Our Story

Built With Purpose

IMS was founded in Liverpool, New York in 1986 by people who, at the start, picked up and sorted the mail by hand. The premise was simple: regulated organizations need a communications operator that ships every cycle, holds every audit, and never becomes the story. Forty years later, that premise is still the company.

Each decade added capability on top of the core. Secure transactional print, then ePresentment, then omnichannel delivery, then data services and postal economics, then an active disaster-recovery operating model. None of it pivoted. All of it stacked.

Today, IMS composes Healthcare, Financial Services, Insurance, and Government workloads under one HITRUST-attested operation. Four facilities, three hundred people, a second generation actively in the business, and a clean operating record across four uninterrupted decades.

"Understand the workload. Understand the regulation. Then ship every cycle. Forty years in, that is still the only thing we sell."

The Message House

Behind the Work

Compliance breadth, operating stability, and multi-industry reach, held together by one family-owned operator.

Credentialed

Credentialed Across Regulated Work

HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 1 & 2 Type II, ISO 27001, PCI DSS Level 1, FISMA, NIST, MARS-E, GDPR, FSC, plus IT-ISAC membership. Healthcare, financial, insurance, and government workloads handled under one audit posture.

Zero Incidents

Forty Years, Same Company

No breaches. No rebrands. No private-equity layoff cycles. While the largest peer in the category absorbed a 2021 malware breach and two Chapter 11 filings, IMS did not miss a cycle. Stability here is an operating record, not a slogan.

Four Verticals

One Operator, Four Industries

A health system, a regional bank, a P&C carrier, and a municipal agency can all work with IMS under the same compliance posture. Useful when the multi-vendor sprawl compliance teams inherited by accident needs to end.

Leadership

Experienced Leadership

An operating team that has stewarded forty years of regulated communications without a breach, a rebrand, or a change in ownership control.

Infrastructure

Two separated plants.

One active operation.

Disaster Recovery runs as a daily shadow-production model, not a tabletop. Every cycle prints in two places.

Primary Facility

Primary Production Center

The HITRUST-attested core. A SOC 1/2 Type II, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS Level 1 audited environment running every transactional, regulatory, and policyholder workload.

  • High-speed digital and offset transactional print
  • Automated inserting, finishing, and inline barcode QC
  • USPS Full-Service Mailer and commingling
  • Secure document handling, chain-of-custody, and destruction
  • Hardened physical and logical access controls
  • Continuous control monitoring across the audit stack
Disaster Recovery

Active Shadow-Production Site

Not a warehouse on standby. The secondary site shadows live production daily, with annual DR testing and an under-4-hour RTO for critical communication streams.

  • Daily shadow-print operating model. Live, not theoretical
  • Under 4-hour RTO for critical workloads
  • Annual full-failover DR testing with audit artifacts
  • Same compliance posture as primary. No downgrade in DR mode
  • Evidence packets ready for examiners and internal risk teams
  • Documented escalation and cutover playbooks
Operating Principles

Non-Negotiables

Compliance

Compliance Is Architecture

Ten-plus frameworks aren't stickers. They are how we run intake, composition, production, delivery, and archival. Every workload, every cycle, every audit window.

Accuracy

The Cycle Ships

Statements, EOBs, tax documents, policy packages, notices. The regulated calendar doesn't move. Forty years in, we've never given a client a reason to doubt that.

Stability

Stable on Purpose

No PE owners. No churning leadership. No rebrands. The reason your account team will still be the same team next year is the reason the operating record is what it is.

Modernization

Quietly Modernizing

From transactional print to ePresentment to omnichannel orchestration. Every layer added without disturbing the core. Modernization that doesn't become its own risk event.

The one that has to run every cycle, hold every audit, and never become the headline. We do this for a living.
