FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 22, 2013, Syracuse, NY – IMS, Inc. is pleased to announce that John D. Mashia, Jr., President and Chief Operating Officer of IMS, Inc. (Liverpool, NY), will be speaking at this year’s PostalVision 2020 – 3.0 Conference, being held April 23-24 at the L’Enfant Plaza Hotel in downtown Washington, D.C. Participating in a panel discussion on Tuesday, April 23, titled: “Positioning American Commerce,” Mr. Mashia will be discussing the current, future and lasting impact of postal operations on American commerce.

As in past years, the PostalVision 2020 conference will bring together a broad range of distinguished panelists in order to address this year’s theme: Positioning America for the New Millennium. While focusing on and enabling experts to explore possible technology solutions to supplement or replace the current mail delivery system in the United States, the conference will encourage a robust conversation on the priorities and responsibilities of both postal institutions and the government as the country moves into the digital future. Continuing PostalVision 2020′s legacy of bringing together leading digital, regulatory and postal experts, Mr. Mashia will share the conference stage with notable speakers, including Senator Tom Carper, (D-DE) Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Vint Cerf, VP and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google, and Hon. Good Reasons to Opt for Digital Printing

Digital printing offers a host of advantages over traditional offset printing. If you’re in need of printing services for your company’s print collateral, consider the many benefits offered by digital printing.

  • Avoid printing more than you need—With offset printing, plates are used for printing, meaning there are high start-up costs and you have to print a large batch to make it worth it. With digital printing, there are lower costs for short run printing, so if you only need a few materials printed, you can easily do so with this method. This will keep you from printing more than you need, thus saving you money and reducing paper waste.
  • Print different versions of your piece—Digital printing makes it easy for you to print different versions of the same piece. For instance, if you want to personalize your mailers with the recipient’s names, you can do this easily digitally.
  • Keep your materials current—With digital printing, it’s easier than ever before to update your printed materials to keep them current and accurate. Little tweaks can be made without adding to the cost of printing.

These are just some of the great advantages offered by digital printing. When you need reliable, affordable commercial digital printing, trust IMS. Learn about our full line of services at www.ImmediateMailing.com.

Choosing a Company to Handle Your Digital Printing

When you choose wisely, you’ll get high quality materials at affordable prices, and the entire customer experience will be smooth and hassle-free.

How can you make sure you choose the right company to handle your digital printing? Here are a few things you should look for.

  • Experience—You want to be sure you choose a digital printing company with an extensive track record of successfully meeting client’s needs. Look for a company that has been in business for years and that has a positive reputation.
  • Portfolio—Take a look at some of the past work done by the company. Have they printed materials like the ones you need? Do their quality standards meet yours?
  • Cost—You don’t want to break your budget getting the digital printing services you need. Choose a company that offers quality services at competitive prices.
  • Turnaround time—In most cases, you need your materials printed by a certain date. Make sure you work with a company that offers fast turnaround times, so you can get your printed materials on time.

5 Ways to Get More Responses with Direct Mail Marketing

Direct mail marketing is still an important part of many successful marketing campaigns. A fine-tuned direct mail campaign can generate high-quality leads, bring in new customers, and increase loyalty with existing customers.

Of course, the goal of a direct mail piece is to get a response from the recipient. Whether that response is calling you, visiting a website, or placing an order depends on your personal goals, but you have to know how to get the reader to take action.

Here are 5 simple tips to help you get more responses with direct mail marketing.

  1. Offer a free gift to entice the reader to respond. It can be anything from a free sample of your product to a gift card.
  2. Have a clear call to action. Don’t make the reader guess about what you want them to do. It should be apparent.
  3. Personalize your mailers as much as you can to build a stronger connection and more credibility with the reader.
  4. Use time-sensitive offers to make the reader feel like they need to act now.
  5. Test everything. Try different variations of your mailers and track what works best.

5 Tips for Better Direct Mail Marketing

A properly run direct mail marketing campaign can be highly effective for all types of businesses. Direct mail is a great way to build leads, make sales, improve relationships with prospects and existing customers…the benefits go on and on.

Of course, to get these benefits, you have to run your campaign properly. Here are 5 tips for better direct mail marketing.

  1. Have your mailers printed professionally. You only get one chance to make a good first impression. Make sure your mailers look great by having them printed by a professional direct mail printing service.
  2. Proofread everything. A single grammar mistake or misspelling can make your company look amateurish. Always proofread your materials carefully.
  3. Have a follow-up plan. Sending out the mailers is only one part of the process. You need to have a plan for following up with your target audience.
  4. Integrate with other marketing. Integrating direct mail marketing with other channels, such as email marketing or social media, is a smart way to build a more rounded, more effective marketing campaign.
  5. Never stop testing. Always test everything to see what works and what needs to be improved. Try different headlines, different calls to action, different designs, etc. and track your results.

How to Keep Your Direct Mail Out of the Trash

Direct mail marketing is still one of the most effective marketing tools available at your disposal. A proper direct mail campaign can generate a huge return on investment, helping you get more leads and sales.

Of course, not all direct mail campaigns are managed properly, and many end up wasting a lot of money as their mailers end up filed away in the trash bins of their recipients.

What can you do to keep your mail out of the trash?

  • Get a good mailing list—The quality of your mailing list will play a significant role in the effectiveness of your direct mail campaign. If your mailing list is well targeted and contains good prospects, you have a better chance of getting good results. If it’s low quality and untargeted, you’re going to have a hard time generating a decent return on your investment.
  • Create a quality piece—First impressions matter. People do “judge a book by its cover.” So, make sure your mailers make a quality impression on your audience. It should have a professional design and be printed on top quality paper.
  • Have a strong offer—Make your audience an offer they can’t refuse. You have to give them a compelling reason to respond to your mailer.
  • Keep testing—Don’t give up if your first mailing bombs. You should always be testing new things and tracking the performance of your campaign to determine what’s working and what needs to be tweaked.

3 Trends in Direct Mail Marketing

Direct mail marketing is always evolving. Staying on the cutting edge and understanding the latest trends and best practices will help you get better results from your direct mail marketing campaign.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at 3 of the hottest trends in direct mail marketing at the moment.

  1. PURLS—Personalization is a huge trend in direct mail marketing. Companies are tailoring their messages to each individual recipient, providing them with unique content that speaks to their needs. PURLs (personalized URLs) are included on direct mail pieces, and they typically include the customer’s name in the URL (e.g. www.abccompany.com/JohnDoe). When the customer types the PURL into a web browser, he or she is taken to a personalized landing page that contains information and an offer specifically relevant to them.
  2. Integration—Integrated marketing has been another big trend in direct mail. Integration involves creating complementary messages across multiple mediums (mail, email, social media, etc.) to generate leads and make sales.
  3. QR Codes—QR Codes are two-dimensional bar codes that users can scan with their mobile phones to access a website with product or service information. These codes are placed on mailers, driving website traffic and helping to increase response rates.

How to Get More from Your Direct Mail Pieces

October 26, 2011 imsadmin 0 Comments

Thanks to advances in online marketing, many companies have started to overlook the power of direct mail marketing. They mistakenly buy into the idea that all print marketing is dead, and that’s just not the case. When done properly, direct mail marketing can produce a higher return on investment than almost any other form of marketing.

To maximize the results of your direct mail campaign, you need to adhere to the following tips.

Hire a Professional Direct Mail Agency

Direct mail agencies make marketing easy. They can help you with all of your printing needs, ensuring you get high quality direct mail materials that catch the eye and instantly boost your company’s credibility.

Before you choose a direct mail agency, make sure you first take a look at their work and their prices. You want to make sure you choose a printer that always delivers high quality materials at reasonable prices. Low quality direct mail pieces make your company look cheap and unprofessional, and spending too much for your direct marketing kills your return on investment.

Send Your Direct Mail to a Targeted List

If you’re sending your direct mail to people who aren’t interested in the products and services you offer, you’re wasting your money. To get results, you need to make sure you’re sending your marketing pieces to your target audience. It’s all about the quality of your mailing list.

Don’t have a mailing list yet? You either need to start working on building one or consider purchasing a quality list from a reputable vendor.

Make Sure Your Pieces Have a Clear Call to Action

Every piece of direct mail that you send out should have a clear, strong call to action on it. You need to tell the reader exactly what the next step is that you want them to take. You might want them to call you for a consultation, or you might want to direct them to your website. Whatever it is that you want them to do, tell them clearly. Otherwise, they won’t do anything at all.

Track Your Results

Track everything. That’s the key to figuring out what’s working with your direct mail marketing campaign and what needs to be tweaked. By tacking your results, you’ll end up optimizing your direct marketing spend over time, allowing you to increase your ROI for better results.

Following these direct mail marketing tips is the key to running a successful, profitable campaign.
